On July 2nd, 1954, Human Technologies (then Mohawk Valley Workshop) was incorporated by the mayor of Utica and a group of business men concerned with wanting to provide employment and rehabilitation opportunities to Korean War veterans and others with disabilities. At that time we were located in a two-room space on Second Street in Utica, NY with a total of 6 employees. Today Human Technologies is still headquartered in Utica, NY with regional locations in Syracuse, the Southern Tier, and Western New York, providing employment to over 600 people with disabilities. We believe each person makes an impact, work done well makes everything possible, and the work of our people transforms the community.Through employment, people gain confidence and self worth, become independent, and create goals that they want to attain. For many of the employees at Human Technologies, this is the first job that they ever had. Human Technologies has over 600 employees and more than 33% of these employees remain with us for over five years and 7% remain over 20 years. Each year, Human Technologies directly impacts the lives of more than 2500 people who have disabilities.
