In honor of National Custodians Day, we sat down with Frank Castellano, Director of Environmental Services, to discuss his journey, the team’s work, and their pivotal role in our organization’s success.
From the Ground Up: Frank Castellano’s Journey
Frank Castellano joined Human Technologies on Halloween 2010, starting as a project supervisor ona mobile run. Over the years, he held various roles, including area supervisor, regional manager, and eventually director. Frank’s progression through multiple positions gave him firsthand experience with every aspect of environmental services, from managing contracts to supervising large-scale operations like of the New York State Fair. His comprehensive knowledge ensures that he leads with empathy and expertise.
Environmental Services at a Glance
Human Technologies’ Environmental Services team is a cornerstone of our operations, providing cleaning and maintenance services with a focus on excellence and attention to detail. With approximately 200 employees, the team handles a wide range of tasks, including:
- General janitorial services
- Floor care, including strip and wax services
- Carpet extraction and cleaning
- Window cleaning
- High-touch cleaning and disinfection, especially during critical times such as the COVID-19 pandemic
- Special projects tailored to client needs
This team’s adaptability and dedication ensure that every space they maintain is clean, safe, and welcoming.
Commitment to Green Cleaning
Environmental sustainability is a priority for Human Technologies. The team utilizes green cleaning solutions wherever possible, including eco-friendly chemicals, low-decibel machinery, and water conservation methods. However, Frank emphasizes that successful green cleaning requires collaboration with clients to reduce dirt entry and ensure effective filtration systems. Together, these efforts contribute to healthier, more sustainable spaces.
