The United States Forest Service (USFS) is an agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture that administers the nation’s 154 national forests and 20 national grasslands, which encompass 193 million acres.
Under an AbilityOne contract, we provided apparel advisory services to the USFS, helping them modernize their uniform. As a stock program with custom-made apparel, we manage all aspects of the production process and the entire supply chain, providing over 135 unique uniform items to 18,000 USFS employees.
Employees enjoy easy online ordering, using the secure web site we designed for them, which also provides for allowance management and personal buying history. Orders are picked, personalized, and kitted daily and shipped in less than 48 hours, direct to the employee’s government mailing address.
Each year we process nearly 19,000 orders and pick, pack, and ship over 80,000 items, with 99.96% order filling accuracy, and 99.92% product quality level.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is the largest civilian agency in the federal government and provides leadership on food, agriculture, natural resources, rural development, nutrition, and related issues based on public policy, the best available science, and effective management.
As part of the USDA’s Strategic Sourcing Initiative, Human Technologies was awarded a master services contract to provide apparel consulting services and uniforms for the entire USDA. In addition to the Forest Service, we currently provide uniforms to Plant Protection & Quarantine, Wildlife Services, Animal Care, Veterinary Services, International Services, Federal Grain Inspection Service, and Agriculture Marketing Services – Specialty Crops Program & Tobacco & Cotton.
Each program has their own custom web site with allowance tracking. Online orders go directly into our warehouse management system. These are all commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) non-stock programs, so all items are procured at time of customer order. Upon receipt of the apparel, we process items through the specified screen printings, embroideries, patching, thermal transfer, and kitting processes, then ship direct to employees.
Annually, we process over 15,000 orders and pick, pack, and ship over 60,000 items, with 99.85% order filling accuracy, and 99.89% product quality level.
The New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) is responsible for the confinement and habilitation of approximately 53,000 individuals under custody held at 54 state facilities and 36,000 parolees supervised throughout seven regional offices.
Under multiple New York State Preferred Source contracts through New York State Industries for the Disabled (NYSID), we provide a wide variety of apparel and footwear to Corrections Officers, including Ike jackets, Class A and B pants, rain jackets, three season jackets, officer caps, ball caps, brigade sweaters, badge cases, officer’s belts, and over 40,000 pairs of work boots each year.
We also provide earphones and cables, and release belts, to DOCCS for issuing to prisoners.
Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS) conserves and protects the resources and lands of the Lone Star State.
Texas was interested in piggy-backing onto our USFS contract so they could purchase several specific uniform items already procured and stocked. We obtained the necessary modifications to our federal contract, and augmented the USFS offering with dozens of COTS items to round out their uniform requirements.
This arrangement allows the TAMFS to avoid going out for commercial bids for their uniform, ensuring they will get the same excellent apparel quality and customer service they’ve come to appreciate from Human Technologies.
A custom web site makes it easy for their employees to order, and also provides for allowance tracking on the home page screen for each user.
Each year on average we process over 1,400 orders and pick, pack, and ship over 5,200 items, with 99.65% order filling accuracy, and 99.77% product quality level.
