Utica City Limits Visits Human Technologies: Inside Our Mission, Our People, and Our Impact

We recently welcomed the City of Utica to Human Technologies as part of their Utica City Limits series, which highlights manufacturers and businesses across the region. The visit included a full facility tour and conversations about our mission, our workforce, and the impact our team makes every day.

Hosted by Carl Reistrom, President and CEO of Human Technologies, the segment offers a behind-the-scenes look at HT’s employer-first model, showcasing everything from custodial services and facilities management to manufacturing, packaging, assembly, screen printing & embroidery, and warehousing and distribution, all driven by a commitment to meaningful employment.

“Our mission is to create employment for people with differing abilities,” Carl shared, noting that roughly two-thirds to three-quarters of HT’s workforce has a documented disability and that the organization operates like any competitive business, pricing services at market rate and reinvesting revenue back into people and infrastructure

During the tour, Mayor Galime saw firsthand the scope of HT’s operations, from apparel decoration and military manufacturing to acting as a single-source provider for remote office deployments.

“They truly rely on innovation, efficiency, and running a proper business to keep the people that they employ employed,” Mayor Galime said, highlighting that over 80% of HT’s workforce has a documented disability and emphasizing the organization’s ability to deliver complex global work with precision, including zero-error military shipments

Carl closed by underscoring HT’s culture and focus: recognizing ability first, supporting employee wellbeing, and keeping two objectives front and center, growing employment and strengthening the balance sheet so more people can be hired.

We’re grateful to the City of Utica and Mayor Galime for taking the time to learn about our work and share our story. Watch the full Utica City Limits segment above to see how Human Technologies continues to deliver real-world impact through the power of people with purpose.
